| Flip & Tumble Bags |

Amazing lightweight nylon bag (in pretty colors) that stuffs into its own little lycra stretchy storage bag (attached! so it can't get lost). Stick it in a pocket, than expand it to carry just about anything, from beach bag to groceries. This is the smallest and most stylish of the eco-reusable bags out there. Had these bags for trip to Italy - came in VERY handy in lots of situations.

Convenient and charming Italian B & B with gorgoeous panaromic views of valley and mountains just 20 minutes outside the city center of historic Bologna. Marconi family is charming and welcoming. The big pluses for families are, large rooms, outdoor swimming pool, beach volleyball court, ping pong and more!

| Tanque Verde Ranch |

Tanque Verde Ranch is a great Family Dude Ranch experience, sitting smack in the middle of the Rincon Mountains between Saguaro National Park and the Coronado National Forest, just east of Tucson, Arizona.
There is a riding program for kids as young as 4, but I recommend going when your kids are little older (7+) so that they (and you) can appreciate the experience more.

| Bio Bags Dog Poop |
399 |
These are great poop bags, I buy them by the case since any dog owner needs about 300 a year...If you don't have enough newspaper bags for the purpose, then bio bags are a great alternative. The poop and the bag can be put in a compost pit, where both decompose naturally; or buried, where micro-organisms will quickly eat both; or simply thrown out.

| Joel Stein, Time Magazine. Eating your Placenta |
485 |
Afterbirth, its What's for Dinner, is really one of the funniest Joel Stein columns I have ever read. And I'm talking ROFLOL. Click on the link to read it, and tell me if you laughed out loud at least 5 times. Glad I no longer have any placentas in my future, so I don't have to think about eating them. PS. Its worth subscribing to TIME just to read Joel's column (usually at the back.)

| FrancaMaria Rooms, Cinque Terre, Vernazza Italy |
452 |
My kids would agree that Vernazza is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and their favorite in Italy. Bring your goggles, the swimming is unbelievable! Vernazza is one of the "5 towns" in the Cinque Terre, a national park in the Italian Riviera. There are no hotels, so you have to rely on room rentals (and not all are on the up and up as you'll find on trip advisor.) Luckily we found FrancaMaria Rooms, who has a couple rooms that can accomodate a family of 5. We loved room 7, steps from the beach (if you don't mind a little Piazza noise!)

| LightLoad Towels |
376 |
Traveling or backbacking? You can always have a spare towel on hand with a hockey puck size "lightload" towel. I am a huge fan of these towels as we took them with us on our trip to Italy. When packing light, you have to justify every item in the bag. These towels are very lightweight, make for a great extra towel. (We swam everywhere we went.) AND they are great to have as extra towels if you have a swimmer or water polo player. They dry in about an hour, if hung up. Wash on delicate and hang dry to make them last longer.

| Kid Safety Band |

A dad from NY dreamt up this silicone saftey band/bracelet (think Live Strong) to help quickly reunite lost children with their families. Your cell number (and kids medical conditions) are printed on the band. This way good samaritans and officials can quickly find you. (Thanks to Adele M. for sending in this link.)

| Funny TV: Big Bang Theory |

A Theoretical Physicist, an Experimental Physicist, and a hot blond with more common sense than both of them. It's really pretty clever compared to the rest of TV sitcoms. Still manages to be pretty funny after premiering on 9/2007. CBS on Mondays.

| Funny TV: Community |

This show focuses on a community college collection of misfits. Some of the best parts involve the unbalanced Spanish teacher, Ken Jeong, who BTW is also a medical doctor who likes to act. This show is occasionally so clever you'll find yourself rewinding to hear what they said again. Quirky and smart. Premiered 9/2009. NBC on Thursdays.

Guilty pleasure. The men in my family call it "Gloom" and can barely stand it. We "ladies" think its great. A very funny/drama for the teen set. Best characters, Rachel and Kurt. Try it. But go back to the beginning. On Fox, premiered 9/2009, but is currently on hiatus until April 2010. You have time to catch-up!

I've always loved this story of Mom vs. Dad party planning, revenge and obsession. It is universally true, although I have to admit that my husband once planned a submarine party all by himself and it did include great decorations, AND entertainment.
